Concerts

The Music at Trinity Concert Series features a rich diversity of local and international talent across a variety of classical music genres, presented free of charge as an outreach ministry to the wider Southwest Florida community. Performances take place in both Trinity-by-the-Cove’s church as well as the Parish Hall, a space that was radically transformed in 2020 and is an equally magnificent visual and acoustic setting for music making. Previous performers on Trinity’s concert series include New York Polyphony, St. Pete Baroque, and The Gesualdo Six. Information for the 2024-2025 concert series schedule can be found below.

Gabriel Martins

October 19th, 2025 - 4 p.m.—Church

Cellist Gabriel Martins. Mr. Martins is a Brazilian-American cellist who has collected a rather extensive list of accolades such as the Sphinx Competition Gold Medal, the David Popper International Cello Competition Gold Medal, and the Concert Artists Guild/Young Classical Artists Trust Grand Prize. The Strad Magazine declared his New York City recital debut as “flawlessly played…. a deeply moving experience” and Classic FM named him one of their “30 under 30” Rising Stars.

His Trinity program features a wonderful pairing of old and new: Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 with its unmistakable first movement prelude, some pieces composed by Martins himself, and ending with Zoltán Kodály’s Sonata for Solo Cello.

Cantus

November 16th, 2025 - 4 p.m.—Parish Hall

One of America’s most accomplished choirs, the Twin Cities based Cantus. Cantus is an ensemble of 8 gentlemen, and it is one of only two full-time jobs for choral singers in the U.S.  Now in its 30th anniversary season, they’ve been recognized by The Washington Post for “exalting finesse” and “expressive power”.

Working without a conductor, the members of Cantus rehearse and perform as chamber musicians, each contributing to the entirety of the artistic process.

Christmas-by-the-Cove

An annual Naples holiday tradition! The church will ring with Christmas joy as the choir of Trinity-by-the-Cove presents Christmas Carols old and new, enhanced by local instrumental musicians from the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra at Artis Naples.

Echoing Air

January 11th, 2025 - 4 p.m.—Parish Hall

In January, the concert series will feature Echoing Air, a distinguished period-instrument Baroque ensemble from Indianapolis. This appearance continues the series’ commitment to presenting historically informed performances, a genre that remains underrepresented in the Naples area.

The ensemble comprises two countertenors, recorders, and basso continuo, and takes its name from Henry Purcell’s renowned song “Hark, the Echoing Air.” Their programming places particular emphasis on the music of the English Baroque.

Ensemble Altera

February 15th, 2026 - 4 p.m. — Parish Hall

Ensemble Altera, led by renowned countertenor Christopher Lowrey, will make its Florida debut in February following international acclaim for its inaugural recording, The Lamb’s Journey. The ensemble recently received Germany’s prestigious Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German Record Critics’ Award), with the jury stating that “no recent recording debut in this field has been as spectacular.”

Though newly formed, Ensemble Altera has quickly gained recognition, with the BBC describing them as “something extraordinary” and Scherzo Magazine naming them “a leading ensemble on the American choral scene.” Their appearance at Trinity on Sunday, February 15th, promises to be a highlight of the season.

Jason Vieaux

March 8th, 2026 - 4 p.m.—Church

The season concludes with GRAMMY Award–winning guitarist Jason Vieaux. A world-renowned artist, Vieaux has been praised by Gramophone Magazine as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.” He has performed across the globe and holds faculty positions at both the Curtis Institute of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

This marks the first classical guitar performance in recent memory at Trinity, and the instrument’s rich, expressive sound is sure to shine in the church’s intimate acoustic setting. This will be a truly memorable finale—one not to be missed!
